Senior Ruby/Perl Developer

We have a senior Ruby/Perl developer role with a Times top 100 growing company. Our dynamic fast growing organisation is based in Waterloo has recently won several awards for its innovative and high performance products and is the market leader for mobile interactive applications for the media industry.

You will be working with a group of highly motivated individuals and your input will be key to the success of our products.

In this role you will own multiple application platforms for the group and will share your architecture experience with the rest of the team. Your experience will be shared continuously with your colleagues within and outside the development team and your expertise will be passed on to junior staff who are still learning on the job.

You will benefit from involvement in all stages of the user experience from use-case design to application build and test.

You will have:

· 2+ years experience in Ruby on Rails

· 4+ years experience in Perl

· 5+ years experience in object orientated programming

· 4+ years experience in relational databases like MySQL

· 5+ years experience in command line Unix/Linux use

· 1+ years experience in test driven development

Good working knowledge of the Ruby and Perl command set and the model-view-controller approach are essential. Expert skills in command-line configuration, navigation and analysis on UNIX systems is a pre-requisite.

Other desirable skills: Experience in working with bugzilla and Subversion.
