Senior Web Engineer

Los Angeles based advertising agency, Mendelsohn Zien, is seeking a Senior Web Engineer. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with multiple clients, to offer technology solutions by leading internal development teams as well as managing various agency and client partners. We are seeking individuals who can partner with Creative Leads to enhance their ideas to create.
 
The Sr. web engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership over interactive and internet projects. 
 
Clients include: Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s, Qantas, Farmer John, Cyberhomes, LA Avengers, etc.
 
Responsibilities: 
·         Working to develop Server Side, Back- End Web solutions utilizing Ruby on Rails, PHP, Linux , AJAX & .Net Programming 
·         Manage HTML/CSS UI Developer as required for Integration, Optimization & Deployment
·         Supervise Client side server administrator(s) as required for Hosting & Serving solutions
·         Build, Maintain & Optimize Database Development (minimum, setup/creating)                
·         Oversee Apache, mongrel, lighttpd, nginx and mod_rails
·         Oversee GIT and Subversion source control systems
 
Requirements:
·         Strong background in developing websites and interactive applications
·         Strong background with Ruby on Rails and PHP development
·         Strong skills in OO architecture and design, including facility with the MVC and ActiveRecord design patterns
·         Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, SQL, and database design
·         Experience with Git and Subversion source control systems
·         Experience with MySQL administration
·         Experience with Apache, mongrel, lighttpd, nginx and mod_rails
·         Experience integrating web services
·         Experience developing content management systems
·         Prior documented success in developing web applications deployed on Linux/Unix
·         Experience with Unix/Linux System Administration
·         Knowledge of standard HTML, CSS
·         Knowledge of technology standards and best practices.  
 
Pluses:
·         The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of as2 and as3.
·          Interactive or Advertising Agency experience preferred.
